Each country generally develops their bloodlines based on local climate conditions and their intended goals. Bloodlines include a number of popular European warmblood breeds.

Miniature horses (the man made kind anyway) come from the Renaissance in Europe. During that time royal stables took to breeding smaller and smaller animals, while retaining horse type characteristics. Over generations this was successful and a number of different miniature horse bloodless were created.

Also called South African Boerperd, and the Kaapse Boerperd, the Boer horse comes from the same stock as the Basuto pony. However the Boer is found in a much milder climate, allowing them to grow more robust.
