Intro
The Tes Horse of Mongolia has always been developed naturally, allowing nature to select the strongest and most suitable animals. This particular strain of the Mongolian horse is well adapted to cold weather, inhospitable climates and poor fodder.
Origins
Named for the Tes region where they are bred, this strain can also be found in Zuungovi, Baruunturuun. So well thought of, they are exported to other regions to enhance other herds. This area has an unforgiving climate in every sense, simmers are sizzling hot and winters are extremely cold. Tes herds live outdoors all year round and are left to forage for food, regardless of what nature throws at them. As can be imagined, this shapes very hardy little horses. According to the DAD-IS the are recognized as a breed and their stud book was established in 2019.
