Intro
Also called Steppe Mongolian, the Galshar is a Mongolian breed that has a rather distinct conformation among the Mongolian types and bred specifically for racing.
Origins
The Galshar area is known for producing horses of great speed and these animals have made them famous in their country for racing. There is a small gene pool of animals kept pure blood, carefully kept to preserve genetics. The rest are distributed throughout the country to improve racing capability of other strains.
Animals of this breed are left to graze freely, keeping stallions separate from mares and geldings. Inbreeding is carefully controlled, never allowing females of breeding age to be near their fathers.
