Intro
Not an official breed, the New Mongolian is the product of a cross between Mongolian horses crossed with Budyonny, Thoroughbred and Akhal Teke or Arabian blood.
Origins
In a country of very, very old horse breeds, the New Mongolian is relatively new. Given their foundation bloodlines, they are a fast and tough type, built mainly for racing. While they maintain some of the Mongolian’s robust constitution, adding Thoroughbred can soften the edges of hardier mountain types. This type requires more (and better) feed and a higher level of care than their more robust foundation types. While it seems they have a studbook, breed standards have not yet been established.
