Intro
The Criollo Oriental is another Bolivian localized variety of Criollo, which is perhaps better suited for the country’s tropical lowlands than the other two native breeds.
Origins
This Criollo offshoot is specific to Bolivia and descended from the Spanish Colonial Horse. Similar to other Criollo types, this is a small robust animal that is extremely adaptable.
Although it can be assumed that it’s simply a highly localized offshoot of Criollo found primarily in the Andes. Probably a larger and stronger animal than those found in some of the other South American countries. There is another Criollo variety found on Bolivia, the Criollo Oriental which is perhaps more of a lowland model.
