Recently I learned about the Fresh Air Fund which is a charity program that matches inner-city kids with host families in the suburbs & small town communities.
This is a program that provides kids a chance to enjoy some good old fashioned dirty fun. Learning how to care for horses, helping to plant a garden and falling asleep next to a campfire are things many kids never have the opportunity to try.

In keeping with our Arabian month of June today we learn a little more about the mighty Arabian horse. In the past few weeks we’ve learned a little about their history, some interesting Arabian facts as well as some common misconceptions about the breed.

June is officially Arabian video month & so far we’ve learned a little history and some interesting facts about the lovely Arabian breed. These animals have been around a long time and their blood flows through the veins of most modern breeds.
Today we take it in a different direction and discuss some of the common misconceptions & myths about this breed. In some circles Arabians are thought to be highly strung and even difficult, (which is true in some breeding circles & strains) but not to most Arabian breeders. This is an breed noted for their versatility, hardiness & agreeability.
