Horse Video Sunday is Moving – To Thursday

Film ReelI love finding new horse videos to share and the weekly videos on Sunday has been perhaps the longest running series on the site ever. It’s time for a change and I’m switching to a Monday through Friday posting week. Horse people are busy on the weekends anyway.

A Brave New Day

Starting this week Video Sunday will officially be moved to Video Thursday…it’ll still be there if you want to watch it on Sunday. If you haven’t already seen it, you can check out the new posting schedule here.

Horse Poetry Tuesdays

New ScheduleRecently I was researching something or other online and ran across The Man From Snowy River by A.B. Paterson. I was embarrassed that the name only rang a bell in the context of a movie, so I had to read it and see if the movie added up.

The poem is excellent and actually exciting, or as exciting as a poem can be. As for the movie, its bold imagery absolutely does the verses justice and the cliff scene is very judiciously replicated for the film interpretation.

And The Winner of the Secretariat Giveaway Is…

Secretariat CoverFirst of all I want to thank everyone for their participation, each one of you is a horse hero for your sacrifices. Every response made me proud to be a horse person and it’s been fun to learn more about everyone and their animals.

The Big Winner

The winner was chosen by random draw so everyone had an equal and fair shot at the prize – I’d never have been able to choose just one of you! Today’s lucky winner is Marsha Wilson who made the hard decision to gave her aging horse away to a good and loving home for his golden years.

Thanks again to everyone who commented and stay tuned for more exciting giveaways in the weeks to come!

Job Section Updated

Jobs SectionRecently I’ve been making a lot of updates on and around the site and I’ve been so busy with it that I’m just now able to formally announce them.

Horse Jobs

The jobs section is a handy one to keep bookmarked, no matter what you want to do with horses. Whether you are in the US, UK, Africa or Australia (& everywhere in between) there are job postings for you to keep up with. The idea was to keep it as simple as possible. Simply go to your geographical area and the page will show you the most recent jobs for that place.

Interview Tuesday

Artist Interviews

Lately I’ve been using Tuesdays as a day to share horse artists, but it was time for a change. The fun of a website is the ability to change on the fly & I decided it was time to show off some more contemporary horse art.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have interviewed some amazing equine artists, photographers & authors so I thought it was time to re-visit some of those interviews.
