It seems that painting life sized horse statues is a growing trend around the world. I’ve done a little research and I don’t know if they are all connected to the Trail of Painted Ponies or if they are independent. (Anyone know?).

Green Horse Guide
Last year I did quite a few posts about eco & animal friendly products for horses and the people who love them. There are only so many resources to go around so shopping clean and green is important.
Keeping it Real
Let’s face it, horses are animals and all of their needs can and should be met as naturally as possible. Especially considering we’ve plucked them from their natural environment and asked them to live on our terms.
As we learn more about horses, more about our environment and more about what we can do to give the world a better future, our priorities have to change.
Predators Riding Horses
Under no circumstances do I condone this practice, however it does exist and ignoring it doesn’t make it go away. Talking about it and getting involved will.
The Story
These images have been circulating the web for some time now & have generated quite a bit of controversy. Perhaps first popularized by an article in the Daily Mail.

My Little Pony Musical
This is perhaps one of the strangest horse-related videos I’ve seen on youtube in a while so I thought I’d pass it along.
If you are into My Little Ponies, then you may get a huge kick out of this show. I did a little research and don’t believe it’s playing anywhere. Although there are copies of the DVD floating around online for purchase.
If you are a believer that the ponies are a bit creepy as they are will be fully justified in feeling that way after watching the clip below.

The Horses of Ivan Bilibin
Ivan was a Russian painter, born in St. Petersburg in 1876. He was raised fairly isolated from the traditional Russian art community and found himself inspired by Russian folk art & fairy tales.
His love of the wilderness of Old Russia and the mythology that arose from it propelled Ivan into a career of illustration and mural painting.
An art nouveau flair combined with his attention to detail led Ivan to later become an accomplished & sought after stage designer for opera and ballet.

I grew up on coloring books and always knew I wanted to become a professional artist. Although I was born in Wyoming, I have spent most of my years living in Minnesota.

Horse Treat Recipes
While I’m all for giving treats to your loving equine, but it’s important to make sure you are feeding them clean. The best way to do that is to make treats yourself (psst, it may even save you money).

Arabian Horse Associations and Societies
The Arabian breed is clearly too large to be contained in June, so it’s spilling over into July. I thought this video was a good resource and wanted to share.
If you haven’t already checked out the Arabian videos of June you can learn a little about Arabian history, a few interesting facts, some common misconceptions and to balance that some common characteristics to all Arabians. Should I go digging and find more I’ll turn Arabians into a two month extravaganza! 😀

Blue Eyed Horses Pt 2
It seems everyone can relate to a cute blue eyed horse and the first installment was very well-received by readers & social media friends. It’s been fun hearing about everyone’s favorite light eyed animal.
In fact, I received several reader contributions so I decided to dedicate part 3 solely to your blue eyed submissions.
