A look at dun mealy horses around the world and on a variety of different breeds.
The mealy modifier can often be found along with the dun dilution especially when they are found on old, wild breeds like Przewalski’s horse. The two together along with wildtype bay are though to be ancestral coloring of the species. The dun dilution creates darker hairs, while mealy does the opposite. Making for an animal that can be drastically contrasting and unmistakably mealy.
