Most modifiers can be affected by roan white patterns creating a rainbow of marbled shades. This pattern on a mealy animal can mask it’s characteristics to some degree. However as a roan retains their base color on their points, unless their coat it very light they can usually still be identified by their lightened muzzle hairs.
