Deli Pony

Intro

This breed’s name most likely came from the large quantities of ponies that are exported from the port of Deli, the Deli pony was first exported to Singapore & Penang and later spread through Malaysia.

Origins

Closely related to the Batik, Bali & Java ponies, the Deli Pony is native to the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. It is thought that horses came to the area several centuries ago. They are thought to have come from India or China.
