Intro
Also called Songhaq and Sonrai, the Songhoï Horse comes from Mali and is not a breed, but rather a variety of West African Dongola with Barb blood.
Origins
There is very little information about this small horse, but it is likely to be very similar to some of the other breeds native to the country. There don’t appear to be any centralized stud books in Mali, so information about the breeds there is limited.
