Origins
Norway is a nation is known for their heavier riding and trotting types which have contributed characteristics to the breed. Setting them apart from other breeds of the same type, including accepting pinto and appaloosa white patterns due to Knabstruppers, Thoroughbred influence.
There are several types based on body type, one being a smaller, lighter riding type and the other a larger, more robust warmblood.
