Intro

The Lezgian Horse is not an official breed, but rather a strain of the hardy Dagestan Horse found in southern Dagestan.

Origins

Horses have been raised in the Dagestan region for centuries and the resulting animals are hardy, versatile and surefooted. Appreciated by locals for their ability to traverse difficult terrain, they are deeply rooted in the culture of people in the area. They symbolize strength and resilience in a harsh climate.

They share similarities with Avar and Kabarda horses, all known for their robust nature and sure footed abilities.
