Intro
The Colchides, Kolkheti or Kolkhuri Horse breed is the oldest and smallest member of the Caucasus type.
Origins
This is an ancient breed which is thought to have been bred since the 2nd or 3rd century. They are intertwined with the history of Georgia and considered a living piece of local heritage. They are likely still bred in small pockets, but their numbers are very low.
