German Baroque Pinto Horse

Intro

Also called Deutsches Pinto Barockpferd, the German Baroque Pinto Horse is a handsome cross between handsom Frisian animals with robust (and sometimes spotted) warmblood breeds. Founded in 2009, this is a German branch of the color breed which originally comes from the Netherlands.

Origins

The goal of this cross was to create a friendly black and white spotted horse with athletic ability and flashy movement.

Minimum height of 15.3 hands

Physique

Head is noble and carried high
Eyes are bright and intelligent
Back is strong and shoulder is powerful and slanting
Legs are lean and can be feathered
feet are well-developed

Traditional Colors

Baroque pintos are very specific types. They are all black with tobiano pinto patterns. To register, they are required to have at least two white spots on the body larger than 10cm in diameter or prove via DNA that they carry Tobiano genetics.

Temperament

Generally color breeds discourage breeding of animals that are difficult to handle, have a mean disposition or are too spirited.
