Intro
Like many of the strains found in Iran, the Basseri is not an official breed. Rather they are a variety of Persian Plateau Horse and a sister to the Bakhtiari, Darashouri, Qashqai and Sistari types.
Origins
A large percentage of horses found in Iran possess some degree of Arabian blood. The Basseri is a light saddle type which is fast an possesses amazing endurance.
