Reaching horse breeds that begin with D was almost a relief, as the earlier letters are all rather large categories (although D isn’t a small one by any means).
If you haven’t already checked out the A’s, the B’s & the C’s they are worth a look. For today we will focus on breeds that begin with D, from the mysterious Dagestan Pony from the coastal plains of Russia to the athletic Dutch Warmblood known worldwide for their superior jumping ability.

It’s striking just how many horses are used in the fashion industry and I’m under the assumption that they are treated fairly well. Even though some of them are subject to silly pictures and terrible fashion.

Although it may sound strange to someone who doesn’t know the equine animal, gut sounds are like music to a horse owner’s ears.
In a nutshell, no gut sounds usually means problems. Horses cannot vomit, so there is only one way out, which can present some very obvious problems.
This video covers how to listen to the gut of a horse you suspect has colic. However, part of any horse owner’s daily routine should be to check for gut sounds.
