I don’t know if a horse on the bottle makes the wine taste better, but for horse lovers it might. So I took a little wine journey around the Internet to see how many breweries used our equine friend as a totem.
I believe most of these are located in the US & I’m quite sure horsey wine isn’t limited to American vineyards. If anyone knows of other horse theme brands I’d love to hear about them.
Disclaimer: I haven’t tried a single one of these wines, so drink at your own risk!
Throwing away my posting schedule has forced me to do some summer cleaning, and in doing so I always find fun ideas I’d forgotten about.
I love the colorful horse stamps and was delighted to find this additional post of them, (you have to love finding half finished material). This is the fourth part in the collection, so if you haven’t seen parts one, two & three be sure to take a look.
The equine stamps I’ve found come from all over the globe, although it seems Germany & Russia lead the pack in sheer numbers.
Out of all of the amazing horse colors out there, I must confess that pintos have always been my favorite.
Perhaps it’s the interesting splotchy shapes or the lovely contrast between stark white and dark colors. Whatever it is, the bonus is that they come in all shapes & sizes & can be found in many breeds.

The equine animal seems to be good friends with haute couture and can often be found hanging out near fashion shoots. In fact, I found so many fashion ad that use them, I had to break my collection up into two parts.
Although I have to admit that I find swimsuit advertising using horses a bit strange. Really, who wants to ride a horse in their swimsuit?

Lately I’ve been hard at work on my breeds section, so it’s on my mind. Which means I’ll be writing about them from time to time, I’m not joking when I say there are a lot of them. Plus I’m growing proud of how comprehensive the list has become.
As I’m adding them by letter I decided to share them the same way & dedicate a post to each letter of the alphabet. I’ve already profiled a few of the breeds that begin with A, but the list seems to take a life of it’s own and keeps growing.

It’s interesting that some of my popular posts come from the trough category (my unusual dog post has by far seen the highest number of views) but the historical places to see was well-recieved too.
Luckliy several people left comments with suggestions, so I added some of theirs and some more of my own to create part 2. As usual I looked for the most stunning and unique shot I could find so visiting them via the Internet is a pleasant experience as well. There are a lot of horse breeds in this world of ours and I’m determined to catalogue and find images of them all. I’ve been hard at work on the task and am slowly trudging my way through the alphabet. (Who knew there were so many?)
It’s pretty amazing how essential the horse has been in the building of civilization, whether it’s working the land to provide food, carrying our stuff or simply giving us a ride into town.
Our history is inextricably entertained and our needs have shaped almost every breed on the planet.
This is an African bushman’s legend about how the zebra got his stripes – I researched and found several different sources, but the story remained the same.
Interestingly enough, this story coincides with how the Baboon came to have such a colorful rear end (and a nasty disposition).
In the early days when the earth was young, the land was hot and dry & water could only be found at scattered watering holes. At one such hole a baboon decided it was time to take charge and appointed himself guard.

We all know and love the iconic mustang of the wild west. Well, they actually come from Spain – but have been on North America for long enough to be considered rather native here.
These days it seems like the only time we see mustangs in the news they are being rounded up and taken from the land they claimed long before we did.
