Spectacular Natural Places Everyone Should See

Last week we visited some of the most amazing historical places on the planet. This week the focus is a little more earthy as we visit some of the most spectacular natural places around the globe.

It’s not difficult to find beautiful places to share and this list could be miles long (I see another post coming in the not-too-distant future).

Here are some breathtaking images that give us a glimpse of natural beauty, from the mountains of Europe to the waterfalls of South America to the tranquil seas of French Polynesia.

The Anadolu Pony is the most common of the Turkish breeds and can be found throughout Turkey. Their bloodlines are more than 1000 years old, and draw on even older breeds such as the Arabian and Akhal Teke, Kabarda and the ancient Anatolian horse.

Live Oak International 2010

2010 Live Oak International The Live Oak Combined Driving Event began in 1993 and has since became one of the premier combined driving events in North America and a USEF selection trial.

The proceeds from admissions are donated to the Marion Therapeutic Riding Association every year. Plus a classic car show and both a 5 & 10k race open up the festivities for more than just horse lovers.

The competition is held on grounds that span over 4,500 acres and are known as some of the most extensive thoroughbred operations in FL.

The Horses of Willy Bosschem

Willy Bosschem is a Belgian artist who has dabbled in a variety of mediums from etching and illustration to graphic design and painting. His portfolio includes a number of sets for theater & tv as well as stamps for Belgium, Rwanda & Senegal.

Willy is clearly a lover of the human form, but his love of animal shapes also comes through in his work. In fact, his love of shape led him to become quite creative in his methodology and medium choices.

His work is full of curves & color and carries overtly sexy themes, deftly displayed with movement and vibrance.

Willy was a big cat lover and some of his most beautiful paintings (in my opinion) are birds, but he clearly appreciated the equine form as well.

CanAm Equine Emporium 2010

2010 CanAm Equine Emporium This show began as an “All Breeds Trade Event” which focused on the education and awareness of the Canadian Horse Industry, today is it simply called the Can-Am All Breeds Equine Emporium.

This event is the largest of its kind in Canada and a thrill for horse people of all levels and disciplines.

They are proud to feature over 60 different breeds, 300 trade show venders and more than 200 presenters and speakers from around the globe.

There is a wide variety of industries within the horse world & that means a great selection of jobs working with horses.

Starting this week, Monday will be job day and I will provide more in-depth info about each horse job I can find.

There are many places on the planet where we have the opportunity to walk into the past & learn about our ancestors.

History and mystery are all around us, from the sentient Moai of Easter Island to the spiritual ruins of Maccu Piccu to the city of Petra, carved into the hills. What better way to enjoy these special places than through the lenses of talented photographers.

I’m a firm believer in seeing the history of the human race through what they’ve left behind.

Many of these places defy our logic and prove that perhaps ancient people were more advanced than we thought. Each one of them provides us with plenty of fuel for the imagination.

Amur Horse – Extinct Breed of the Week

The Amur horse is an extinct equine breed that was native to Siberia. Their bloodlines were a cross between the Buryat & the Tomsk horses and they were bred specifically as riding mounts.

This was a tough, hardy animal & although they were built to withstand extreme conditions, they posessed a finer confirmation than many northern animals.

2010 Agro – International Exhibition for Agriculture This is an agricultural fair and exhibition for more than just horse lovers, although there are horse-industry exhibits including livestock farming, veterinary medicine, horse breeding as well as equestrian sports.

Not Just For Equestrians

Beyond the horse stuff, there are also exhibitions on the mushroom industry, fishing & fish farming, renewable energy and many more with an emphasis on greener living.

The exhibition area spans 10 pavilions plus demonstration areas and will feature 2,167 international exhibitors.
