In the friday vein of plants & nature, I thought I’d throw in some apples. Perhaps the equine animal’s favorite treat of all time (and quite possibly one of the messiest).
Although I’ve always loved the fruit, recently I’ve had a hard time finding a real apple. Even those labeled organic seem to remain in absolutely perfect condition for far too long.
I remember a time when you had to eat fast to get around an apple before it turned brown. Anyone else remember those days?
In my growing concerns over GM products and agribusiness I’ve been on a quest to find a real, old-fashioned apple. One that goes brown before I can eat all the way around. This has proven to be easier said than done & I’ve seen an organic apple look like it was freshly picked for at least month…ew.
Soapbox speech aside, here are some amazing shots of apples and they make me wish I could find a good one…like right now!
How ‘Bout Them Apples?
As for my quest for the (not so) perfect apple, my question for my readers is this: where do you get your apples? Or does anyone have a tree? 😉
