A look at sandy chestnut horses around the world and on a variety of different breeds.
Sandy is the lightest of the chestnut shades. The coat hair ranges drom a pale red to strawberry blonde, mane and tail ranges from darker than coat color to blonde. When affected by the cream dilution we get a cream palomino which can look similar to light animals affected by a flaxen modifier. Both of which are probably closest to the ‘pink skinned palomino’ produced by the champagne dilution creating a gold champagne.
