Intro
The Lithuanian Riding Poni is very much a 21st century breed and was only recently established. That doesn’t mean they haven’t bred useful ponies in the country, they were just recently recognized officially.
Origins
In 2020 the Ministry of Agriculture and State Food and Veterinary approved a breeding program for Lithuanian Riding Ponies. The goal was to create a breeding method for locally bred pony sport animals. Similar to most sport type breed registries, animals are registered based on temperament, athletic ability and performance.
