Horse cultures can be found in all corners of the globe and it’s important that we preserve them. The onslaught of mechanization during the 20th century redefined our relationship with this noble animal. We want to celebrate all horse cultures of he world, even if we find some of them disagreeable.
Earning Lunch
From the images we found, it is clear that horses still earn their keep in Bangladesh. Not particularly fine in conformation, but sturdy and robust most of the animals pictured are at work. Three of the images of horses pulling loaded carts are from a carrot harvest.
It must be said that some parts of the world are harder to share images for, as sometimes the animals are in rough shape. However, we find it important to document the life of every horse accurately, even if sometimes it sucks. Such is your warning, not all horses in Bangladesh are fat and happy.
Breeds of Bangladesh
There are only two official breeds native to the country, but both are fairly country bred. Essentially one breed category is for horses and one for ponies.
