A look at horses with belton face markings around the world and on a variety of different breeds.

The inception of markings belton or recoloring markings are spots of the base color on pinto pattern white fields. It can be quite striking and spectacular on already interesting patterns and can even look a bit appaloosa. When found in certain patterns, they can also be called pawprints. They can show up all over an animal’s coat and are often found on the face and feet (not to be confused with ermine spots, which are smaller).
