A relatively new breed, The Pahlanvan is essentially a small sport horse, combining Arabian and Thoroughbred genetics.
Origins
Developed and bred by the Shah of Iran during the mid 20th century, with a goal of breeding a superior sport horse based on local Arabian strains. These bloodlines have always been intertwined and mix well, Anglo Arabians are popular worldwide. While the result is smaller than the average sport type, they are fast, athletic and possess a bright personality.
