Intro
The Megezh is the largest type found within the Yakut breed and they are bred in the southwestern part of Yakutia in the Leninsk region.
Origins
Originating late in the 19th century this breed arose from a need for stronger animals for gold mining purposes. These animals were tough and possessed great endurance coming from crosses of the Yakut and the Kuznet breeds.
