Kula of Camardi

Intro

The Camardi Kulasi or Kula of Camardi is likely an extinct breed. Their name translates to ‘red roan of Camardi’ which is probably not an accurate translation, as the description says they are primarily buckskin.

Origins

Originally found in Nigde Province in the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, they take their name from the town of Camardi. Unique in the horses of Turkey, the Camardi Kulasi has a tendency to resemble an Akhal-Teke (most Turkish breeds use Arabian blood). However they tend to be stockier than the fine boned Akhal-Teke and are likely crosses with Anadolu Native horses.
