The International Striped Horse is not a breed, but a color type that was established in Colorado.
Origins
The Striped Horse Association was created in 1988 by a number of individuals that had an interest in the primitive striping patterns (both dun and brindle) found in many breeds worldwide. One of their goals was to catalogue as many different patterns as possible by giving each different breed a code and keeping them independent of one another.

There is no standard confirmation for this color type as the registry accepts all breeds, the only requirement for registration is that the animal possess a recognized and accepted striping pattern.
