Baltic Ardennes Horse

Intro

The Baltic Ardennes was a strain of the mighty Ardennes breed, bred specifically in Latvia. The type was absorbed into the Estonian, Lithuanian and Latvian draft studbooks.

Origins

Now considered extinct, the Baltic Ardennes was primarily used for heavy agricultural work. They were successful enough, but like many of world’s draft breeds saw their numbers decline during the mechanization of mid 20th century.
