Useful Horse iPad Apps on iTunes

Useful Horse iPad Apps on iTunesNow that we’ve covered some of the horse games and even a few stout little pony apps for the iPad, today it’s time to take a look at some that are more useful.

Portable Horse

Interestingly enough, there are more useful apps for the iPad than there are games. Due to the fact that it’s a larger and heavier device the iPad is not quite as portable and not as easily used on location. However, from home it’s a great too. Here are some more ways to make it useful in your horse life. For each app I’ve provided a (very) brief description and a link to them on the iTunes store.

Golegã – The Oldest Lusitano Festival in Portugal

Click to see VideoThe Lusitano Horse is Portugal’s pride and a close cousin to Spain’s mighty Andalusian. This video shows clips of Golegã a traditional Portuguese Lusitano Fair.

Amazing Animals

It is no secret the Lusitano is a noble & beautiful animal (don’t tell anyone, but I couldn’t tell an Andalusian from a Lusitano if you paid me). All of that aside, the animals are beautiful and so is the setting – not to mention how interesting it is to see an old horse culture in action.

Horse iPad Games on iTunes

Horse iPad Games on iTunesAlthough I didn’t find as many horse theme apps for the iPad as I have for the iPhone I have a healthy list of them too. Last time we took a look at the cute little pony apps and this week it’s on to the big boys.

Portable Horse

Games are one of the more entertaining uses for the handy iPad. In fact, it’s quite easy to loose an hour or two as you become one with your electronic device. So to help in that computer game fad I’ve decided to start with Horse theme iPad games. For each one I’ve provided a (very) brief description and a link to them on the iTunes store.

Horse Club, Society and Association Blogs Worth Following

Horse Society & Association BlogsOut of all the horse blogs out there, associations & societies tend to be some of the more important ones. The provide an essential service and important news.

The Club, Society & Association List

There are an unlimited number of different horse associations & societies out there. Sadly they tend to be a little slower when it comes to technology and few of them have blogs. I’m sure there are more, but most of these blogs I already follow and I was able to find a few more. I did stay away from breed associations, that’s a post for another day.

The Horses of Paulus Potter

Paulus Potter was a Dutch painter during the mid 17th century, he lived a short but artistic life and died of tuberculosis before reaching his 30th birthday. Much of his short life was spend observing and painting barnyard animals, particularly cows and horses.

Animal Portraits

Potter may well have been the first pet portrait artist, as his subjects were the animals themselves. He was said to have wandered the Dutch countryside with his sketchbook in hand – fascinated with the harmony between the animals, their surroundings and the light that played upon them.

Pony iPad Apps on iTunes

Pony iPad Apps on iTunesI’ve essentially exhausted all of the equine apps I could find for iPhones so I’ve decided to move on to iPads. The apps are similar, but the iPad offers some in high definition (I noted them) and a larger screen to view them on. Today the ponies get to go first!

Pony Apps At Your Fingertips

There aren’t as many apps directed at ponies as there are for horses, (probably why I started this post first) however there are plenty of fun pony games & apps to check out. I’ve collected them and now I’m organizing and presenting them. For each one I’ve provided a (very) brief description and a link to them on the iTunes store.

The Complete List of Horse iPhone Apps

Medical & Health Horse iPhone AppsNow that I’ve organized and listed tons and tons of iPhone apps, it’s time to make sense of them all. After looking at all of the posts I decided what better than to create another list, the iPhone app list to end them all.

Here Goes

If you love horses and have an iPhone you’ve come to the right place, there are a wide variety of types and I’ve got them fairly well categorized. I’m going to keep it short because the list speaks for itself.
