The Lusitano Horse is Portugal’s pride and a close cousin to Spain’s mighty Andalusian. This video shows clips of Golegã a traditional Portuguese Lusitano Fair.
Amazing Animals
It is no secret the Lusitano is a noble & beautiful animal (don’t tell anyone, but I couldn’t tell an Andalusian from a Lusitano if you paid me). All of that aside, the animals are beautiful and so is the setting – not to mention how interesting it is to see an old horse culture in action.

Who’s Going Next Year?
This is one festival I’d love to see someday – Spanish & Portuguese animals have such a presence and the handler’s outfits are so dapper! 😉
The difference between Lusitanos and Andalusians, besides the country of origin, is that Lusitanos tend to be more robust and come in a more wider variety of colors. Roman nose is also more evident in Lusitanos than Andalusians 😛
Are they using the music from Pirates of the Caribbean and Spirt Stallion of the Cimmerron?
