Horses in Strange Situations

Naughty HorseSometimes horses do the silliest things, which I guess is part of the reason we love them so dearly.

Don’t Worry, Everyone is OK

From what I’ve read, all of these animals recovered with minor injuries and no serious harm was done to anything other than their dignity.

So it’s ok to have a chuckle over them now, although I’m sure no one was laughing at the time. Good thing for us (not so much the horse) they stopped the rescue long enough to take a few snapshots.

Equine Geneticist is a job working with horses that doesn’t offer as much handling of the animal as it does science and research.

What You Need

This is a position which benefits from the critical thinking, strict attention to detail and a deep understanding of the scientific method. Although the job doesn’t offer a great deal of hands on with horses, it is still one that is best suited to a horse lover.

An affinity for problem solving and the ability to think and work independently are important elements of a successful horse geneticist.

The Horses of Leonardo da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci seemed to have been a big fan of horses, and even his rough sketches possess an almost magical lifelike quality, both in their detail and in their perspective.

A True Artist

Although ultimately known for his portrait painting ability, it seems he was able to capture his subjects regardless of what type of animal they were. I actually appreciate some of these informal sketches more than his popular pieces. They give us a glimpse into his character, simply because he enjoyed the challenge of drawing horses and found them subjects worthy of his doodles.
