Tell us a little about you, what is your background & where do you come from?
I’ve been drawing horses since I was a child, but later when it came to choosing a career, I choose to study Interior Design. I graduated at the top of my class and practiced in the field with serveral well recognized corporate and hospitality design firms in Downtown Toronto. Read more

Horses have always been used for rural and urban transport in Cuba. Recently the high cost and scarcity of fuel has increased the use of horses and horse carts as reliable transportation.

Though the Cuban people put their horses to work, they are known for a high standard of animal husbandry and generally their animals are well fed and healthy.

I’m in Arizona. Peoria Arizona, which is on the west side of Phoenix. Being from a more rural area of northern Arizona I didn’t know I’d like the city so much, but I do! It’s amazing to go to places I have thought about and gave up on since it was 4 hours round trip. Read more

With worldwide invitation-only participation and a global audience the Dubai World Cup is the richest horse race in the world.

This race is held at a state-of-the-art racetrack which is host to over 50,000 every year for the cup and spans one mile, two furlongs (or 2 kilometers).

The World Cup alone is worth $6 million, and the 6 races that accompany it make this racing bill worth a total of $21.25 million. Read more

Horse Jobs – Vet Tech

Often Vet Techs are ambitious students working their way through vet school in the hopes of becoming a veterinarian themselves. They usually work in a more technical atmosphere than the vet assistant and require a bit more training.

What You Need

Often the animals that a vet tech works with are very sick, which requires compassion as well as the strength needed to support upset owners. This is a position which benefits from someone with an aptitude for science, critical thinking skills and a complete knowledge of the equine animal inside & out.

A calm demeanor, strength of body and character and the ability to think on your feet are important characteristics of a good vet tech.

2009 Thermal Desert Circuit - VIIIHITS Thermal Desert Circuit VIII

The final weekend of the Desert Circuit shows held every year in Thermal, CA January – March. The event is held at a world class facility which covers 230 total acres and provides access to 13 show rings and one covered ring.

Showing ranges from classes for novice and experienced riders to Grand Prix show jumping.

Shopping & Dining
During show weekends there is a desert marketplace on the grounds also. This is the last weekend may be good deals. The markteplace offers dining and refreshment options too.

Horse Fight Club – Round 2

When horses fight back, usually whoever they direct their anger at is the looser. Most of these cases aren’t directly related to the people they affected, but the horse reacted anyway.

Some of these will make you cringe a little, but they are all safe for work and I hope no one was injured too badly.

This event began as an “All Breeds Trade Event” which focused on the education and awareness of the Canadian Horse Industry, today is it simply called the Can-Am All Breeds Equine Emporium.

The event is now in its 6th year and is one of the largest of its kind in Canada.

They are proud to feature over 60 different breeds, 300 trade show venders and more than 200 presenters and speakers from around the globe. Read more
