What began in 1993 and has since became one of the premier combined driving events in North America and a USEF selection trial.

The proceeds from admissions are donated to a worthy cause every year. Plus a classic car show and both a 5 & 10k race open up the festivities for more than just horse lovers.

The competition is held on grounds that span over 4,500 acres and are known as some of the most extensive thoroughbred operations in FL. Read more

There is a huge growth in the Equestrian market in the Middle east, although the area has always been known for its culture of fine horses.

Squirrels Love To Ride Too

It turns out that squirrels and Barbie dolls are just about the same size.

Pair that fact with an incredibly patient and inventive photographer and you have some absolutely hilarious squirrel photos.

Some of them are a little off-topic, but who cares? Once you’ve seen a squirrel on a Barbie horse, you have to see what they will get up to next.

Where I am
I live in Alpine, Texas

Tell us a little about you, what is your background & where do you come from?
I was born in Fort Worth, Texas, raised there and in Europe and Asia. Educated at University of Arizona and Texas Wesleyan University.

When did you first start drawing horses?
Since I was a little bitty kid I was obsessed with horses, leased my first one when I was about 12. Mucked stalls and rode in exchange for lessons.

I drew really awful pictures of horses & wrote bad poetry about donkeys since I can remember.

Horse Jobs – Vet Assistant

Another important member of the equine world, often vet assistants are working their way through medical school and will someday become a veterinarian themselves. They handle the more basic tasks and often accompany the vet on stable visits.

What You Need

Working with both people and their sick animals requires a great deal of patience, tact and multi-tasking ability. This is a position which benefits from the ability to follow instructions, strong listening and communication skills and a through knowledge of the equine animal.

Calm under pressure, physical strength and the ability to learn on the fly are favored characteristics of a solid vet assistant (and a vet-to-be).

Horses Pictures From Poland

Poland flag
Horses are used in many traditional agriculture and transport methods in Poland.

Especially proud of their Arabian horses, the Polish resurrected the breed locally after WWI almost destroyed the bloodlines there. Then when Germany invaded Poland, handlers took the flagship stud and a small band and fled. They managed to disguise the quality bloodlines by smearing dirt and mud across the animals.
