Flies Up Close

Fly Up Close

Image from Sabrina Campagna

Something a little different this week. I thought I’d show a whole new perspective of the horse world that we are all familiar with but perhaps none of us take the time to fully appreciate.

Professional Irritators

The Horses of Peter Paul Rubens

A Flemish Baroque painter, Peter Paul Rubens was a major player when it comes to Baroque style art. His work is bold and lively while giving the viewer a feeling of color and movement.

Tokens Appearances

Although he didn’t seem to find the horse a particularly moving subject, they do make an appearance in a selection of his art.

A Level Above

His deep understanding of perspective and the ability to convey overwhelming emotion with his art make Mr. Rubens a master no matter what he paints.

Big Softies

The romantic vision of a cowboy and his mount aside, we don’t see as many men in the modern horse world. But I think that when no one is looking most men find that they have a weakness for horses too. I even found some pictures to prove it.
