Safety has to be considered at all times around large animals like horses. When spooked they have a tendency to run or lash out first & ask questions later. So regardless of what you are doing, you need to consider their (& your own) safety first. Tying properly is particularly important because when a tied horse spooks they can seriously injure themselves.

The Horses of Ludwig Koch

Ludwig Koch was a renowned equestrian painter in his home country of Austria and today his work is known throughout the world. Clearly he had a thing for dressage and coming from Austria he had plenty of material to work with.

How to Lunge a Horse

Exercising horses on a lunge line is a good practice in many respects. It’s a great way to warm your animal up, work out a few bucks & squeals and to check for injury and lameness before getting on their back.

Safety First

The video makes a point that the art of lunging should only be attempted by a professional. While it’s a great exercise for the horse, it can also be quite dangerous to someone who has no experience.
