Horse Quotes
Probably every horse site has put together a horse quote collection, so I guess it’s time to share my favorites. As far as I’m concerned, a good quote can always make you smile & some people just know how to put things.

“There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.”
~Winston Churchill

“Many people have sighed for the ‘good old days’ and regretted the ‘passing of the horse,’ but today, when only those who like horses own them, it is a far better time for horses.”
~C.W. Anderson

~Marya Mannes

“If the world was truly a rational place, men would ride sidesaddle.”

~Aubrey Eben

“Take most people, they’re crazy about cars. They worry if they get a little scratch on them, and they’re always talking about how many miles they get to a gallon … I don’t even like old cars. I mean they don’t even interest me. I’d rather have a goddam horse. A horse is at least human, for God’s sake.”
~J. D. Salinger

“No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle.”
~Winston Churchill

“Wherever man has left his footprint in the long ascent from barbarism to civilization we will find the hoofprint of the horse beside it.”
~John Moore

~Dale Carnegie

“Four things greater than all things are women and horses and power and war.”
~R. Kipling

    As for the first quote, some say that Ronald Regan said it others say Churchill was the first. I’d be willin’ to bet it was some ole cowboy 150 yrs. ago. I can see ’em now with his hat pushed back, just standin’ there lookin’ at his horse. And sez!

    The hooves of the horse! Oh! witching and sweet is the music earth steals from the
    iron-shod feet; no whisper of love, no trilling of bird, can stir me as hooves of the
    horse have stirred. – Will H. Ogilvie

    Where in this wide world can man find nobility without pride, friendship without envy, or beauty without vanity?

    Here where grace is laced with muscle and strength by gentleness confined.

    He serves without servility; he has fought without enmity.

    There is nothing so powerful, nothing less violent;
    there is nothing so quick, nothing more patient.

    England’s past has been borne on his back.

    All our history is in his industry.

    We are his heirs;

    He is our inheritance
