A look at strawberry roan horses around the world and on a variety of different breeds.
The roan white pattern causes white hairs to grow interspersed throughout coat color. On a chestnut base, roaning causes various shades of pink, giving it the name strawberry roan. A roan animal can usually be identified by the base color that remains around their points, leaving them with a mask of the base color against the roaning on the coat.
