The effect of a double dose of the cream dilution gene on a black base has a rather dramatic affect on their color. All hair on the body can be lightened from a soft pale grey to creamy coffee, making them difficult to distinguish from cremellos and perlinos. A smoky cream may also have slightly darker or yellowish mane, tail and points. A double dose of the cream dilution gene always creates animals with blue eyes and pink skin.
