Horse Breeds Beginning With A

Horse breeds that start with ALately I’ve been hard at work on my breeds section, so it’s on my mind. Which means I’ll be writing about them from time to time, I’m not joking when I say there are a lot of them. Plus I’m growing proud of how comprehensive the list has become.

As I’m adding them by letter I decided to share them the same way & dedicate a post to each letter of the alphabet. I’ve already profiled a few of the breeds that begin with A, but the list seems to take a life of it’s own and keeps growing.

Collecting Horse Breeds

Breed CollectionThere are a lot of horse breeds in this world of ours and I’m determined to catalogue and find images of them all. I’ve been hard at work on the task and am slowly trudging my way through the alphabet. (Who knew there were so many?)

We’ve Always Needed Them

It’s pretty amazing how essential the horse has been in the building of civilization, whether it’s working the land to provide food, carrying our stuff or simply giving us a ride into town.

Our history is inextricably entertained and our needs have shaped almost every breed on the planet.

Common Plants That Are Toxic to Your Horse

Common Toxic PlantsHorses have to watch what they eat, not to maintain a slender figure, but because there are so many plants out there that are toxic to them.

When I started writing my toxic plants section it quickly became comical as I started recognizing (& photographing) the many plants I was writing about in my daily life. I chose the pics below mainly because they are so common.

Nobody’s Fool

Horses are smart and will generally avoid plants that are toxic to them, however they can become a problem during drought circumstances when natural forage is limited.

Horse Treat Recipes

With our own food supply so corrupted with over-processing GM ingredients & syrup sweeteners, there is no doubt that our animal’s food supply is the same (and probably worse).

While I’m all for giving treats to your loving equine, but it’s important to make sure you are feeding them clean. The best way to do that is to make treats yourself (psst, it may even save you money).
