Origins
The Stretlets Horse comes from the caucasus family and was developed by breeding Arabians, quality Orlov Trotters, Thoroughbred & Anglo-Arabians & the resulting animal carried the physical characteristics of the Arabians with a larger build.
This bred was widely used until the early 20th century when their numbers declined. The few remaining animals were taken to the Tersk Stud in an attempt to up their numbers by breeding them to Arabians as well as some Kabardin & Don crosses. The resulting animals are now known as Tersk Horses.
