Spanish Trotter

Intro

The Trotador Español or Spanish Trotter, like most European trotter breeds is bred specifically for racing.

Origins

Trotting came into fashion in Spain early 20th century. During this time, some breeders turned towards breeding racehorses, using a foundation of Anglo-Norman animals. By the 1920s, breeding began to expand and a type emerged. Bred specifically in the Balearic Islands, they are sometimes called the Mallorcan Trotter.
