Intro
Also called Cayor, the M’ Par Horse is a small saddle horse type pony that comes from the Arachidier Basin and around Niayes, in Senegal.
Origins
There are no centralized breeding programs in Senegal, so breeding is highly localized. Their ‘breeds’ are more like types, notable for being from specific areas. The M’ Par is a small variety of Barb, similar to those found in many Northern African nations. Adapted to local conditions, which are not particularly hospitable to horses, their size gotten smaller. They are smaller than and have largely been replaced with their brothers, the M’Bayar.
