Masuren Horse

Intro

The Masuren or Mazury horse is extinct today but was once a notable breed of Poland and was prized as a riding horse.

Origins

Developed as a strong warmblood type based in the Trakehner and later crossed with the Pozan, forming a basis for the modern Wielkopolski. They were bred at studs in the Liski in the Masuria regions.
