Intro
The Karakacan or Karakachan breed comes from Bulgaria and is thought to be quite old. They are developed using traditional methods, raised outside as nature intended.
Origins
A native breed of Bulgaria these hardy animals have long been useful to the Karakachan people of Bulgaria. Left to their own devices, the herds live outside year around and migrate between summer and winter feeding grounds with little human intervention.
This is a heavier small mountain type and are used mainly as transportation for both goods and people to hard to access and mountainous areas.
