Karakacan Horse

Origins

The Karakacan breed comes from Turkey and is the result of crosses between the Trakya horse and animals brought to Turkey from neighboring countries during the times when the Ottoman Empire ruled them all.

Once this breed was quite common, however today their numbers are very limited & purebred animals are rare. Attempts are being made to preserve the breed by crossing with Trakya horses.
