Jinzhou Horse

Intro

The Jinzhou was developed in Jin Country, which is in the southern region of Liaodong peninsula of China.

Origins

Local horses have almost always been of Mongolian blood until the early 20th century when the Japanese brought Hackney, Anglo-Norman & Orlov Trotters among other breeds to cross with local animals. Later Percheron was introduced to create a more robust animal for war purposes.

In 1948 the local government selected 27 stallions from local farms to create larger breeding programs.
