Yururi Island horse

Intro

Yururi Island is a small uninhabited island off the coast of the Nemuro Peninsula in Japan which has been designated as a national treasure. The island is table-shaped with flat, green pastures that are home to a variety of wildlife in addition to a small herd of horses.

Yemeni Horse

Intro

There are a variety of breeds listed in the DAD-IS for Yemen, however there is not much information to be found about them. These include Abeia, Dahmaa, Giawf, Jofi, Omarqoub, Saqallwiya and Shweimaa. It is unlikely there are so many breeds native to the country, they are probably strains of Arabian or Barb. To simplify we will combine them into one and call them Yemeni horse (which does not appear in the DAD-IS and could simply describe another type).

Yakut Horse

Intro

The Yakut Horse comes from northern and central Siberia, developed in relative isolation. This robust little creature was created by the harsh natural conditions that surround them. In fact, they reside further north than any other breed of equine. For that alone they are an interesting breed.

Yabou Horse

Intro

Also called Kabouli, Yabut and Yabu, the Yabou is a small riding horse that comes from the Turkoman steppes. The name Yabou is often used to refer to a pauper’s horse or a nag. However, as with every breed there is more than meets the eye, they share lineage with Turkoman animals which makes them incredibly tough and well suited to their climate.
