The Man From Snowy River
Just because it’s so good…
Interpretation
I’ve heard of fantastic film adaptations of books & novels, but the movie does an amazing job of re-creating the exhilarating mood of this poem. If you liked this one, you’ll probably like William Ogilvie’s Where The Brumbies Come To Water

scary how steep that hill was! It’s kind of unfortunate that they whipped horses so much then though.

What is the breed of horse used in the movie? Especially the hill scene.
Thank you

A whaler (because they came from New South Wales) or brumby, they are the descendants of the first horses that the white settlers bought in, they are a mixed breed of thoroughbreds, plow horses, Timor ponies etc. Their great-great-great-great grand parents are the ones that escaped and made their way Into the mountains.
