Prehistoric Horse Art

Draa River Carving
While I’ve proven that I’m a horse art lover & I’ve explored some incredibly old pieces. I’ve never quite gone this old, back into prehistory to the crude artwork of our ancient ancestors.

Sharing With the Past

I love the idea that our predecessors appreciated the majestic horse enough make them the subject of their limited artwork. Considering many of these have existed for thousands of years they are actually quite lovingly done. The artwork is simple, but quite accurate and beautiful even by today’s standards.

Favorite Time in History?

It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I think mine is actually the Ekainberri Horses from Basque Country. This art depicts the Pottak Pony which still exists today and the artwork is fabulous. If you liked these, be sure to check out the art section for more types of artistic expression
