Unusual Horse Art Pt 4

Unusual Horse Art

Image from Eva the Weaver

It’s been awhile since I posted some unusual horse art so I thought it was time to share more of it. My love of art is eclipsed only by my love of horses, so combining the two has been a lot of fun.

In my constant searches I find plenty of horse art that makes me go “hmmm” and still others that make me go WOW!

Utilizing interesting materials and techniques, these artists manage to represent the equine in some truly magnificent (albeit rather strange) ways.

As far as I’m concerned, the stranger the better. So prepare yourself, it’s time for more of the unusual.

When did you take your first picture?
Well take and make are two different things. I don’t remember the first photo I took. We all pushed a shutter release button at sometime in our life. I do remember the first photos I ‘made’. I was in high school and our family was on vacation visiting relatives. My parents were nominated to be ‘photographers’ for an organization they belonged to.

This post aims to make things even more difficult by throwing feathers into the mix. That’s right, everyone loves Pegasus the winged horse but, drawing him is another story altogether. Luckily there are artists who can draw Pegasus and here are a couple of tutorials to help you do the same.

Kemp Equine's – No Biz Like Horse Biz

Twitter LogoIt’s always fun to meet other horse people via social media, especially those with obvious marketing savvy. That’s how I connected with Lisa Kemp, through the colorful horse community on Twitter.

Where To Begin?

From friendfeed to facebook to twitter there are tons of different platforms for forming community. Some are well suited for the animal industry…some not so much.

Either way, it almost takes an online marketing & social media expert to work it all out. Unfortunately not all of us know someone of that ilk and we have to forge ahead on our own.

About Dressage

Click to see VideoIf you don’t ride dressage, chances are you have questions about it, all of those fancy moves & lead changes with every stride? The video below offers a quick look at what dressage is & provides a little bit of information about the discipline.

This video is a short clip, but it may surprise you how beneficial much of the dressage work can be.
